Mold Positive: Plaster
Mold Positive: Plaster
Continuing from the last post, the CNC machine cut out mostly everything. Some of the smaller details couldn't be cut because the drill bit was too large. I forgot to take a picture of the foam freshly cut and only have a picture from when I stared to cut some of the details myself.
With an exactor knife I cut out every thing to CNC couldn't get and soothed out some parts I thought were too jagged.
During the next class I started to work on the next part of the project, making a mold negative out of plaster. I cut off the edges of the foam and covered to top with Vaseline so the foam would come out of plaster smoother. Then I made a box with the wood and covered the cracks with clay so the plaster wouldn't spill out. After that I mixed and poured the plaster and it took around an hour to dry.

Thankfully the foam didn't stick to the plaster too bad and this was the end result.
